The New York Knicks made four roster moves on Wednesday ahead of their second preseason game against the Washington Wizards.
They began the day by releasing Boo Buie, a former Northwestern standout who had recently signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the team. In his place, the Knicks quickly signed center Moses Brown to a similar Exhibit 10 deal.

Additionally, the Knicks waived two more players on Exhibit 10 contracts: Damion Baugh and Alex O’Connell.
The signing of Brown is particularly noteworthy, as he has played for multiple NBA teams since his debut in 2019. He arrives in New York with career averages of 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game. Last season, he played with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he averaged 3.4 points and 3.9 rebounds over 22 games. Most recently, he participated in the NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Brown is expected to compete in training camp but is likely to be waived before the season starts and may join the Knicks’ G-League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks. If he spends at least 60 days with Westchester, he could earn a bonus of up to $77.5K in addition to his standard G-League salary.
After these moves, the Knicks have opened up two roster spots, bringing their current total to 19 players, out of a maximum of 21 allowed before the season begins later this month. This roster includes 12 players on guaranteed contracts and three on two-way deals. The deadline to finalize the regular-season roster is October 21, when the Knicks will determine their final 12+3 player lineup.
