The Philadelphia Eagles were back on the practice field Wednesday morning in rainy conditions, continuing their preparation for Sunday’s matchup against the Steelers. The session was a walkthrough, meaning the injury report was an estimation.
Safety Reed Blankenship, who missed the Panthers game due to a concussion, returned to practice as a limited participant, signaling that he’s progressing through the NFL’s concussion protocol. This could mean his potential return for Sunday’s game, where he might replace Tristin McCollum, who made his first NFL start in Blankenship’s absence.

The Eagles’ injury report from Wednesday included several notable players. Mekhi Becton, A.J. Brown, Landon Dickerson, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Lane Johnson, Darius Slay, and Josh Sweat were all marked as “DNP” (Did Not Participate), largely due to rest. Sydney Brown was sidelined with a knee issue, while Jalen Carter was limited due to a shoulder injury. Britain Covey was also limited after missing the Panthers game due to a neck injury. Meanwhile, linebacker Nakobe Dean (elbow) and quarterback Jalen Hurts (left finger) were full participants in practice.
Hurts had a taped finger on his non-throwing hand, but since he was a full participant, there’s no concern about his availability. Lane Johnson, dealing with a personal matter, did not attend practice, and the rest of the players on rest were simply taking the day off.
As for Carter, despite his shoulder issue earlier in the week, he played through it against the Panthers. In Covey’s absence, Cooper DeJean filled in for punt return duties during Sunday’s game.
