Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris exited briefly during the team’s win over the Washington Commanders after sustaining an ankle injury. Harris returned to the field, but after the game, he had his ankle wrapped and treated with ice. He shared with the media that he’ll undergo further evaluation on Monday to assess the extent of the injury. Though he managed to continue playing, his ankle was injured after getting rolled up on a play, leading to some post-game concerns. However, since he was able to return during the game, the injury isn’t believed to be severe.
Harris described the situation, saying, “I got rolled up on. I came back into the game, but I’ll have further tests done tomorrow to see what it exactly is.”

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin categorized Harris’s injury among what he called “bumps and bruises” from the game. Known as the Steelers’ primary back, Harris continues to showcase resilience. Although this outing broke his streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games, his commitment to playing through pain remains clear. In his place, Jaylen Warren also performed solidly, logging 66 yards on 14 carries before an unfortunate fumble.
Harris finished with 21 carries for 53 yards, and despite a less-than-stellar game, he remains a key figure in the Steelers’ offensive lineup. His return to action after a minor injury highlights his durability and dedication, critical attributes for the Steelers as they continue their season.
