The Denver Broncos had a busy week making several roster adjustments following their Week 5 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, as they prepare for their second AFC West matchup of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Injuries played a significant role in these moves. Franchise right tackle Mike McGlinchey suffered an MCL sprain during the Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and was placed on Injured Reserve. Alex Palczewski, who filled in for McGlinchey, sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Week 5 win over the Raiders. Though X-rays were negative, Palczewski is expected to miss time.

To bolster their offensive line, the Broncos re-signed veteran offensive tackle Cam Fleming to the practice squad. Fleming, who played for Denver from 2021 to 2023 and started 20 games, is a versatile player who knows head coach Sean Payton’s system. His presence provides insurance for rookie quarterback Bo Nix, as McGlinchey remains out until at least Week 7.

The Broncos currently have three healthy offensive tackles on their active roster: Garett Bolles (starting left tackle), Matt Peart, and undrafted free agent Frank Crum. Bolles briefly left the Week 5 game with an injury but returned, and Fleming’s experience could provide valuable support if needed.
Additionally, Denver added former Bears and Texans center Dieter Eiselen to the practice squad, addressing concerns about depth with Luke Wattenberg dealing with an injury.
It’s uncertain whether Fleming will be activated for Sunday’s game against the Chargers, but his return offers critical depth and leadership for Denver’s offensive line.
