The Seattle Seahawks faced a few setbacks during Sunday’s 26-20 win against the Denver Broncos.
Late in the first quarter, right tackle George Fant injured his right knee. Although the exact nature of the injury remains unclear, he was helped off the field and later ruled out for the rest of the game. After examining his knee, Fant tried to determine if he could return but was eventually sidelined. Head coach Mike Macdonald provided no new updates in his post-game press conference and mentioned that they are evaluating Fant’s condition “day by day,” which might suggest the injury isn’t too severe. However, with Fant serving as a backup to Abraham Lucas, who is on injured reserve until at least Week 5, his absence is a significant concern.

Additionally, running back Kenneth Walker III experienced an abdominal injury late in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game. While Walker assured in his post-game press conference that he was feeling fine, the Seahawks are likely to exercise caution until they have more information. Walker’s status is also being assessed “day by day,” according to Macdonald.

Walker had a strong performance, rushing for 103 yards on 20 carries, including a 23-yard run for a touchdown. He also caught a 6-yard touchdown pass, though a holding penalty on DK Metcalf nullified it.

While the term “day by day” used by Macdonald might be less concerning than past coach statements, the Seahawks hope to have both Fant and Walker available for their next game against the New England Patriots.
