After a short stint with the Utah Jazz in the regular season and Summer League, Darius Bazley will continue his basketball career abroad. Following Talen Horton-Tucker’s training camp deal with the Bulls, Bazley is the next former Jazz player to move on, signing with the Guangdong Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association, as announced by the team on Instagram.

Bazley will not be alone in China. Former NBA player Will Barton, who has played for teams like the Trail Blazers, Nuggets, and Wizards, will join him on the Tigers roster.
Bazley began his NBA career with the Thunder in 2019, averaging 13.7 points per game at one point, though this was during a period when the Thunder were focused on rebuilding. As the team improved, Bazley’s role diminished, with his playing time dropping from 31.2 to 15.4 minutes per game.
After brief appearances with the Suns and 76ers, Bazley was signed by the Jazz at the end of the 2023-24 season. Though his time in the regular season was limited, he participated in the Summer League. However, the Jazz waived Bazley and Kenny Lofton Jr. shortly after the Summer League to cut costs and focus on developing other young players.
While Bazley is heading to China for now, his NBA journey may not be over. Several players, like Dante Exum, have played overseas before returning to the NBA, where Exum became a key rotation player for the Mavericks. Bazley might follow a similar path, though his future remains uncertain.
