General manager Nick Caserio has done an impressive job of assembling a strong roster, although there are still areas in need of improvement. To address these gaps, the Texans are looking towards the 2025 NFL draft with a plan to further strengthen their squad.
In this latest 4-round mock draft, the Texans make strategic selections to bolster their roster.
Round 1: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
For their first pick, the Texans choose Tyleik Williams, a towering 6-foot-3, 327-pound defensive tackle from Ohio State. Williams has made a significant impact over the past two seasons, particularly against the run, and has established himself as a viable first-round prospect. The Texans already boast two of the league’s top pass rushers in Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, but adding a run-stuffer like Williams could make their defensive line one of the best in the NFL. Williams’ presence would allow Anderson and Hunter to focus more on rushing the quarterback, creating a formidable defensive front.
Round 2: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama
In the second round, Houston addresses their offensive line by selecting Tyler Booker, a powerful 6-foot-5, 325-pound guard from Alabama. Booker is known for his ability to dominate in the running game, consistently opening up lanes for ball carriers. However, he has also excelled in pass protection, a crucial area the Texans need to improve. With Booker’s addition, he could step into the starting left guard position, which would allow Tytus Howard and Blake Fisher to compete for the right tackle spot. This move would give Houston more stability and strength along the offensive line.
Round 3: Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas
In the third round, the Texans pick Andrew Mukuba, a versatile safety from Texas. Mukuba is known for his excellent coverage skills and could serve as a valuable third safety for the Texans. He may lack elite speed and has limited experience in the passing game, but as a backup to Joe Mixon in Houston’s offense, Mullings would have the time to develop his skills and contribute in a complementary role.
