If you’ve watched a Tennessee Titans game this season — and managed not to switch the channel — you likely witnessed quarterbacks Will Levis or Mason Rudolph struggling to survive behind a porous offensive line.
Under first-year head coach Brian Callahan, the Titans have hit rock bottom with a 3-11 record. However, the offseason presents an opportunity for significant improvement, especially with the team projected to have $63 million in salary cap space. Revamping the offensive line will undoubtedly be a top priority.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine suggests a cost-effective way for the Titans to bolster their roster: signing veteran Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jack Driscoll in the 2025 free agency period. Driscoll, known for his versatility, could either start or provide depth at multiple positions based on Tennessee’s needs.
“The biggest issue is at right tackle where Nicholas Petit-Frere has not taken the step forward Tennessee would have hoped,” Ballentine noted. “Drafting someone is going to require another learning curve, so seeking a free-agent option might be best. Jack Driscoll has put together some good film in limited action with the Eagles. He would be a great depth addition at minimum.”
Jack Driscoll: A Veteran with a Winning Pedigree
Driscoll, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 312 pounds, embodies the type of experienced player teams covet. A fourth-round pick out of Auburn in the 2020 NFL Draft, he’s appeared in 54 games with 17 starts during his career. Notably, he suited up for all 17 games in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Though the Eagles released Driscoll in March 2024 after he signed a one-year, $1.79 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, he returned to Philadelphia midseason and has since played in 10 games. The Eagles, currently riding a 10-game winning streak at 12-2, continue to showcase their depth and success, making Driscoll an attractive target for other teams.
What Would Driscoll’s Contract Look Like?
Driscoll’s solid play in 2024 has likely secured him a modest pay raise for 2025. A reasonable comparison is Commanders offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas, who signed a one-year, $2.8 million deal in March 2024. The Titans could offer Driscoll a similar contract, aligning with their financial strategy.
Titans’ 2025 Draft Outlook
Currently holding the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Titans face numerous roster gaps, making it difficult to prioritize a single position. They’re also unlikely to have a high enough pick to land top quarterback prospects like Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, projected to go first and second overall.
For the Titans, adding a dependable veteran like Driscoll could be a vital step toward stabilizing their offensive line and laying the foundation for a more competitive 2025 season.
