Brandon Graham is likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a triceps tear during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.
“If I had to go out like this, I gave everything I got,” Graham commented.
Graham had been dealing with triceps tendinitis before the injury, but this time, he felt a significant difference. “It stung a little longer,” he explained. “And when they tried to examine me, I knew something wasn’t right.”
In the game, Graham recorded two tackles and one sack, helping to pressure Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was sacked five times. For the season, Graham has 3 1/2 sacks, marking his 15th year with the Eagles.
Coach Nick Sirianni said he needed more information before confirming the season-ending injury. He described Graham as “one of my favorite guys I’ve ever been able to coach” but wasn’t ready to make an official statement. “Holding out hope, and we’ll see,” Sirianni said.
Graham has been a key player for the Eagles since they drafted him 13th overall in 2010. He now has 76 1/2 career sacks and moved into third place on the franchise’s all-time list after sacking Stafford in the second quarter.
Graham’s best season came in 2022 when he posted 11 sacks. He was also part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning squad after the 2017 season, contributing by forcing a fumble in their 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots.
Running back Saquon Barkley, who joined the Eagles after six seasons with the New York Giants, praised Graham’s leadership and impact on the team. “The energy and the passion that he brings, not only to this team but to this city, he epitomizes what it means to be a Philadelphia Eagle,” Barkley said. “We all have to follow his example. But one thing we know about BG is that he’ll keep showing up with a smile, and on Sundays, he leads by example. We’ll rally around him and have his back.”
