Eagles Provide Crucial Injury Update on Star Wide Receiver After Early Exit in Win Over Jaguars

The Philadelphia Eagles can breathe easier regarding the status of star wide receiver A.J. Brown. He left the field in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a knee injury, but reports on Monday indicated that the injury is not serious, as confirmed by NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

“Sources: #Eagles WR A.J. Brown, who left Sunday’s game with a knee injury, avoided anything serious and is expected to be fine,” Schultz shared on X (formerly Twitter).

While Schultz didn’t specify whether Brown would miss any games, this news is encouraging for the Eagles, who secured a 28-23 victory over the Jaguars and extended their win streak to four games. They are gearing up for a divisional clash in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Eagles lose star receiver A.J. Brown against Jaguars to knee injury

Given this update, it’s likely Brown will be available to play against the Cowboys, although his status should be monitored until more information is released.

Before his exit, Brown had recorded two catches for 36 yards on six targets. In the current NFL season, the 27-year-old is the second-leading receiver on the Eagles, with 444 yards and three touchdowns from 23 receptions. DeVonta Smith leads the team with 473 yards and four touchdowns.

If Brown cannot play in the upcoming game, Smith could see an increase in targets from quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars. Other players, including Jahan Dotson and Saquon Barkley, might also be more involved in the passing game. Barkley notably helped the Eagles manage Brown’s early departure with 159 rushing yards and a touchdown, along with 36 receiving yards.

The Eagles hope to have Brown available in Week 10 as they aim to keep pace with the Washington Commanders in the NFC East, with Philadelphia sitting at 6-2, just behind the 7-2 Commanders.
