Browns Defensive Star Battling Devastating Injury, Sidelined Ahead of High-Stakes Chargers Showdown!

Browns Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will miss this week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers as he recovers from a neck injury sustained during a tackle.

Owusu-Koramoah was hospitalized overnight after a significant hit while attempting to tackle Baltimore running back Derrick Henry. As Cleveland’s leading tackler, he took a hard blow to the head and neck. Medical personnel removed his facemask, and he was placed on a backboard before being carted off the field in the third quarter; however, the Browns reported he had movement in his arms and legs.

Coach Kevin Stefanski noted that Owusu-Koramoah visited the team’s facility on Wednesday before heading home but did not provide further details about his injury.

After facing the Chargers, the Browns (2-6) will have a bye week before playing against New Orleans on November 17. Before his injury in the Ravens game, Owusu-Koramoah recorded seven tackles, five of which were solo, and he currently leads the team with 61 tackles, showcasing a strong season.

Meanwhile, cornerback Denzel Ward remains in concussion protocol following his injury against the Ravens. This marks his sixth recorded concussion since entering the NFL six years ago as a first-round draft pick from Ohio State. Stefanski has not ruled Ward out for this week and emphasized that his status is day to day.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Ward leads the league with 12 passes defended and is the only player with at least 10 in each of the past seven seasons.
