The Baltimore Ravens activated cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis from injured reserve on Saturday after he missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury. His return comes just in time for the Ravens, as first-round cornerback Nate Wiggins will be sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns because of a shoulder issue.
Additionally, Marlon Humphrey, another standout from Alabama, left the previous game with a knee injury and is considered doubtful for Sunday’s matchup.
Armour-Davis was one of eight players from Alabama high schools and colleges to become eligible for Sunday NFL games following Saturday’s transactions. He wasn’t the only Alabama alum to return from injured reserve; Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was also activated.
Other former Alabama players making their season debuts last week included Denver Broncos linebacker Kwon Alexander, San Francisco 49ers kicker Anders Carlson, and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe, all of whom were elevated from the practice squad to active status again for Sunday’s games.
In last week’s matches, Jobe played 65 snaps in Seattle’s 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Alexander contributed 21 snaps in Denver’s 33-10 victory against the New Orleans Saints, and Carlson kicked two field goals, including a 55-yarder, in the 49ers’ 28-18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Sunday, the Seahawks face the Buffalo Bills, the Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers, and the 49ers compete against the Dallas Cowboys. Each NFL team is permitted to elevate two practice-squad players to active status for each game.
