The Pittsburgh Steelers will be missing key rotational pass rusher and interior defensive lineman Montravius Adams for several weeks due to an aggravated knee injury sustained during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. To provide depth while Adams is sidelined, the team has re-signed nose tackle Breiden Fehoko, but head coach Mike Tomlin did not specify a timeline for Adams’ return.
Adams initially injured his knee during practice on Friday and was listed as questionable for the game, but the Steelers removed that designation on Saturday. He ended up playing only one snap before being taken out and not returning.
This isn’t the first time Adams has faced knee issues; he missed four weeks last season due to a similar injury. Now, he is expected to be out until at least the team’s November 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Dean Lowry and Isaiahh Loudermilk will have increased roles in his absence, which is a significant loss for the team’s interior pass rush, especially since they have already lost DeMarvin Leal for the season due to a neck injury.
