The Chicago Bears have provided an injury update on safety Jaquan Brisker, who has been sidelined since a Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers due to a concussion. Brisker sustained the injury following a helmet-to-helmet collision with Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble, which caused both players to leave the game. Although Brisker initially returned after clearing concussion protocol, he reported symptoms the next day, leading to an official diagnosis.
Brisker missed the Bears’ Oct. 13 game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars and benefited from the team’s Week 7 bye for additional recovery time. Head coach Matt Eberflus gave an optimistic update earlier this week, stating that Brisker is still in the protocol but progressing well. Eberflus hinted at the possibility of Brisker returning for Week 8’s matchup against the Washington Commanders, noting that the safety has a few more steps to clear.

Brisker has been a vital part of the Bears’ defense, playing 293 snaps over five games this season with strong grades in tackling, run defense, and pass coverage, according to Pro Football Focus. His contributions include 40 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, forced fumble, and an interception. If Brisker remains sidelined, Elijah Hicks will likely step in, as he did against the Jaguars in Week 6.
