Seahawks Make Strategic Moves: Key Additions and Returns Boost Roster Depth

The Seahawks have signed guard McClendon Curtis to their practice squad on Monday, bringing back the versatile offensive lineman after he was waived from the 53-man roster last week.

In addition, safety Jerrick Reed II, who started the season on the physically unable to perform list, has been cleared to return to practice. Reed, a sixth-round pick in 2023, made a name for himself as a special teams contributor during his rookie year, recording nine special teams tackles—tying for third on the team—despite playing only 10 games due to a torn ACL.

Reed can practice for up to 21 days before being added to the 53-man roster, after which he must either be placed on the roster or be out for the remainder of the season. He is the second player to return to practice from the PUP list, joining nose tackle Cameron Young, who made his 2024 debut in Thursday night’s game. Tackle Abraham Lucas remains on the PUP list, and Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald stated last week that there is still no timeline for his return.
