Notre Dame Loses Top QB Commitment as Auburn Tigers Make a Bold Move!

The Auburn Tigers have been actively seeking a quarterback for their 2025 recruiting class and have finally made a significant addition.

They have secured one of the top prospects in this recruiting cycle, Deuce Knight, who recently flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Auburn after visiting the campus multiple times this season.

Knight hails from Lucedale, Mississippi, where he attends George County High School. He is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the nation by ESPN and Rivals, and No. 5 by 247 Sports.

In addition to Notre Dame, Knight chose Auburn over several competitive programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

With Knight’s commitment, he becomes the 25th prospect in Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class, elevating the Tigers to the No. 3 recruiting class in the country according to 247 Sports, and No. 4 according to On3.

Knight’s commitment could also attract other high-profile recruits to Auburn, particularly five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, who is currently committed to Alabama.

According to Andrew Ivins, director of scouting at 247Sports, Knight is a left-handed, dual-threat quarterback with an impressive physical profile that still needs development. He stands approximately 6-foot-4.5 and weighs around 195 pounds. He recorded exceptional athletic numbers, including a laser-timed 4.53 in the 40-yard dash, a 41.9-inch vertical jump, and a 4.39 in the short shuttle. Knight showcases excellent whip and velocity with a quick release and possesses the arm strength to make deep throws.
