Starting right tackle Trent Brown injured his knee during the Bengals’ 38-33 defeat at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. Brown went down after awkwardly planting his leg while blocking in pass protection.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, tests confirmed that Brown has a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, requiring surgery and sidelining him for the rest of the season.
This injury is a major setback for the Bengals, who are already struggling with an 0-3 record. Brown had signed a one-year deal with Cincinnati in the offseason, worth up to $4.5 million, after three seasons with the New England Patriots.
With Brown out for the year, the Bengals are expected to rely on rookie first-round pick Amarius Mims. Mims, a standout from Georgia, missed the first two games of the season due to a pectoral injury but made his NFL debut on Thursday night.
