Packers QB Jordan Love Reveals Surprising Injury Update: Report

The Green Bay Packers are hopeful to have quarterback Jordan Love back in action by this weekend. Love returned to practice on September 18, just 12 days after spraining his MCL during the Packers’ Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on “NFL Live” that Love is optimistic about playing in the Week 3 road game against the Tennessee Titans. After practice, Love praised backup QB Malik Willis for his performance against the Indianapolis Colts, noting, “I think Malik did a great job. What we did last week gives everybody more confidence going forward if I’m not there this week.”

Schefter mentioned that if Love isn’t ready to play this Sunday, he could return for the game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 or the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5. Love emphasized a cautious approach, stating, “I’m hopeful that I can get to that point where I can get in there, but we’re just going to take it day by day.”

In Love’s absence, Malik Willis had a solid outing against the Colts, completing 12 of 15 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown while rushing six times for 41 yards. The Packers leaned heavily on their running game, totaling 53 attempts and 261 yards—just one attempt shy of the all-time record set by the Chicago Bears in 2017.

However, the Packers may not find the same success against the Titans, who are unlikely to allow Green Bay to run the ball as freely as they did against Indianapolis. If Love is unable to play, Willis will need to step up, which may lead to increased chances for mistakes.

The matchup is further interesting due to the Titans trading Willis to the Packers for a seventh-round pick in 2025 just weeks prior.
