Pacers Release Two Key Players

The Indiana Pacers have released guard Kyle Magnus and forward Cameron McGriff, as noted in the NBA transactions log.

These moves were anticipated since both players had signed Exhibit 10 contracts last week to join the Indiana Mad Ants in the G League.

Kyle Magnus, 25, stands 6-foot-4 and hails from Warsaw (Ind.) High School and Indiana Wesleyan University. After going undrafted in 2021, he played with the Mad Ants last season following a stint overseas. He also spent July with the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer team in Las Vegas. Magnus reflected on the experience on the Locked On Pacers podcast, mentioning the excitement of practicing in front of LeBron James and meeting notable figures like JJ Redick and Rob Pelinka. He also shared his experience playing alongside Bronny James, noting his quiet demeanor and the intense media attention surrounding him.

Cameron McGriff, 26, is 6-foot-7 and went undrafted from Oklahoma State in 2020. He has had a varied career, playing both overseas and in the G League. McGriff appeared in three games with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2021-22 season, averaging 4.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.
