**CINCINNATI — Bengals rookie Amarius Mims will be sidelined for the next few weeks due to a strained pectoral muscle, but he remains positive about his recovery. Mims explained how the injury occurred during the game against Tampa Bay.

Head coach Zac Taylor mentioned on Monday that Mims pointed out the injury following the game.

“I just pushed myself too hard despite the discomfort I was already feeling,” Mims said about the injury. “Now, it’s all about taking care of myself. I’ll be focused on daily rehab and working to get back as soon as possible.”

In his 16 snaps on Saturday, Mims performed well, earning a 62.9 PFF grade and not allowing any pressures against a less challenging Tampa Bay team. He plans to use the film from the game to mentally refine his skills during his recovery.

“I’m not frustrated, just taking it as a learning experience,” Mims said. “It’s important for me to listen to my body. For now, I’m concentrating on recovery and making the most of my rehab to return quickly.”
