A significant factor in Delhomme’s recruitment was Terps running backs coach Latrell Scott, who hails from Richmond and has strong ties to the area, having played college football at nearby Hampton University. This commitment follows the recent addition of Top100 offensive lineman Jaylen Gilchrist from Virginia Beach’s Salem High School, who chose Maryland over South Carolina and Georgia.
Delhomme prioritized finding a program that felt like home, valuing brotherhood and community above all else. As he navigated his recruitment process, he relied on his parents for guidance, choosing to focus on the right fit rather than NIL opportunities.
