Bengals Blockbuster Roster Overhaul: Key Signings, Critical Injury Setbacks, and Recent Departures

The Bengals announced several roster moves today:

They have signed defensive end Andre Carter, a rookie from Indiana University. Carter, who stands 6-5 and weighs 270 pounds, initially joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent in May. However, he was released by the Jaguars on July 31.

Additionally, the Bengals have signed defensive tackle Joshua Pryor. Pryor, who is 6-4 and 280 pounds, is a second-year player from Bowie State University. He originally signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent in 2023. During his rookie season, he appeared in seven games and made one special teams tackle. Pryor was waived by Washington on May 7.

In other moves, the Bengals placed defensive end Cam Sample on the Reserve/Injured list due to an Achilles injury. This move affects their defensive line depth as they look to manage injuries and adjust their roster.

The team also waived punter Austin McNamara and wide receiver Tre Mosley. Both players were signed by the Bengals as college free agents in May but did not make the final roster.
