Colts Owner Reacts to Injury Update from Star Quarterback

When an NFL team drafts a quarterback in the first round, it’s with the expectation that this player will become the cornerstone of the franchise.

For the Indianapolis Colts, those plans faced a setback last fall when rookie Anthony Richardson played only four games before a season-ending injury.

Recently, however, there was promising news about Richardson’s recovery. In an interview with James Boyd of The Athletic, Richardson expressed optimism about his shoulder injury, saying, “You’ll see next week once I’m slinging that thing again, so just stay tuned.”

Colts owner Jim Irsay responded to the update with an enthusiastic “Awesome.”

Richardson’s injury occurred in Week 5 during a key game against the Tennessee Titans. He hurt his right shoulder’s AC joint, which led to him being placed on injured reserve.

Despite the setback, Richardson seems confident about his recovery, and his return could signal a bright future for the Colts. The team nearly made the postseason last year even with him out after surgery.

If Richardson is fully healthy, his development over a full season could be pivotal. With no dominant team in the AFC South, strong quarterback play might well decide the division winner.
