Recent Update: New England Patriots Eyeing Seahawks Offensive Line Coach Andy Dickerson for Key Position
There are indications that Andy Dickerson, the current offensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks and Tufts University alum, might be making a return to Massachusetts. According to Mike Reiss, ESPN’s Patriots reporter, Dickerson is reportedly on the New England Patriots’ radar for the position of offensive line coach.
With Alex Van Pelt as offensive coordinator, the Patriots are targeting former Seahawks/Rams assistant Andy Dickerson as OL coach, per sources.
Attended Tufts University and has had proven success with rookie development (e.g. Charles Cross/Abraham Lucas) and run-game schemes.

Dickerson had previously interviewed for offensive coordinator positions with the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. However, the Browns filled the role with Ken Dorsey, replacing the dismissed Alex Van Pelt, and Cincinnati promoted Dan Pitcher from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator after Brian Callahan took on the head coach role for the Tennessee Titans.
Joining the Seahawks in 2021 as the run game coordinator and assistant offensive line coach, Dickerson earned a promotion to offensive line coach in 2022 after the departure of Mike Solari. Despite the struggles of the Seahawks offensive line in 2023, much of the issue can be attributed to a series of injuries affecting the starting lineup. Nevertheless, Dickerson has shown promise in overseeing an offensive line that exhibits more potential compared to previous seasons.
Dickerson has a history with the Patriots organization, having been part of the operations department from 2004 to 2005 before joining the New York Jets. Most of his coaching career has been with the Rams, initially hired by Jeff Fisher and retained by Sean McVay.
It’s worth noting that Dickerson is not currently out of contract, leaving the possibility open for the Seahawks to retain him under new head coach Mike Macdonald. However, if not, it appears likely that another team will secure Dickerson’s services during this offseason.
