Former Patriot Star Throws Shade at Patriots Fans After Losing Their Star QB

Did Jack Jones criticize Patriots supporters following the release of a Mac Jones video? As seen on NBC Sports Boston, the former New England Patriots cornerback stirred up controversy by seemingly targeting the team’s fan base.

Reflecting on the noticeable change in Mac Jones’ demeanor since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jack Jones, now a cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders, implied that Jones’ newfound happiness wasn’t solely due to leaving behind Coach Bill Belichick, but rather the entire New England fan base.

In a video shared by the Jaguars on social media, the former first-round draft pick exhibited a carefree attitude reminiscent of his rookie season in New England, leading Jones to quip about his passion for rapping and his newfound freedom outside of New England.

Jack Jones’ social media post seems to be a reaction to fans’ observations about Mac Jones’ improved demeanor in Jacksonville, insinuating that Belichick wasn’t the root cause of the issueβ€”instead, the fan base was.

The 26-year-old, who appeared in five games for the Patriots last season before being released, may not be alone in his sentiments regarding the New England fan base. A 2023 poll by The Athletic, conducted among 85 anonymous NFL players, ranked Patriots fans as tied for seventh for the most irritating fan base.

This recent post isn’t the first time Jack Jones has voiced his discontent with New England since leaving the team. Shortly after his departure, the 2022 fourth-round pick admonished Patriots reporters and fans, urging them to “back off.”

Unlike Jack Jones, Mac Jones has refrained from making any negative remarks about his time with the Patriots. Instead, he took the opportunity to express gratitude in a letter addressed to his former teammates, coaches, and supporters.
