BREAKING NEWS: The Los Angeles Chargers have inked a one-year deal with an interior offensive lineman.

In 2023, the Los Angeles Chargers offensive line performed below expectations, ranking within the middle of the league in various metrics such as hurries, hits, pressures, pressure percentage, and sacks allowed.

A significant factor contributing to their struggles was the absence of Corey Linsley for the majority of the season due to a non-emergent heart-related issue, with Will Clapp struggling to fill in adequately.

With Linsley likely to retire during the upcoming offseason, the Chargers are in need of a replacement, either through free agency or the draft. They have recently secured Bradley Bozeman, an interior offensive lineman with experience at both guard and center, signing him to a one-year deal.

Bozeman began his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018, primarily playing at left guard. Over the years, he demonstrated consistency in his performance, gradually improving his metrics, particularly in terms of penalties and sacks allowed.

In 2022, Bozeman joined the Carolina Panthers on a one-year contract, which was later extended to a three-year deal in 2023. Despite starting every game at center, his performance saw a slight decline compared to previous seasons, resulting in his release by the Panthers.

As Bozeman transitions to the Chargers, his role remains uncertain, with potential placements at both guard and center positions. However, regardless of his position, his experience and versatility are expected to be valuable assets to the team, potentially serving as a starter or backup.

Despite Bozeman’s acquisition, the Chargers may still explore other options in free agency or the draft to bolster their center position, considering the depth of talent available in the upcoming draft class.
