The Oregon Ducks have scored a major win on the recruiting trail by landing one of the fastest-rising quarterbacks in the 2026 class. Bryson Beaver, a talented signal-caller from Vista Murrieta High School, has officially flipped his commitment to Oregon, giving head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein a future centerpiece for their offense.
Beaver’s commitment follows a whirlwind rise over the past several weeks. Initially committed to Boise State and ranked outside the top 70 quarterbacks in the class, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect caught fire on the recruiting circuit. His breakout came at the Elite 11 Finals, where he impressed with his arm strength, decision-making, and poise. Those performances vaulted him up recruiting boards and earned him a four-star rating from 247Sports, along with a climb to No. 17 among 2026 quarterbacks.

After shining in Redlands at a summer camp, Beaver quickly drew interest from top-tier programs, including Oregon, which extended a scholarship offer in mid-June. While he would go on to visit powerhouse programs like Alabama and LSU, it was Oregon’s vision, coaching culture, and developmental focus that ultimately won him over.
Speaking with On3, Beaver cited the opportunity to play under Coach Lanning and Coach Stein as a major factor in his decision. “I’d say just obviously the opportunity to play for two of the top coaches in the nation,” he said, praising their belief in his long-term potential. He also emphasized the strong bonds within Oregon’s coaching staff and the positive energy surrounding the program. “It felt like home,” Beaver noted, describing an immediate connection with Coach Stein during their first meeting.
Oregon’s approach — centered on player-first development, staff chemistry, and transparent communication — stood out during his visit to Eugene, and Beaver saw a clear path to thriving both on and off the field.
Academically, Beaver brings a 3.8 GPA to the table, and his on-field intelligence mirrors that success. At the Elite 11, he threw five touchdowns with zero interceptions in 7-on-7 sessions, showing he’s more than just raw talent — he’s a refined competitor.
Beaver becomes the 10th commitment in Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class and gives the Ducks a highly skilled quarterback prospect who could become the face of their offense in the years to come. With his meteoric rise and sharp mindset, Oregon may have just found its next star under center.
