It seems that Kentucky Wildcats guard Travis Perry will be available to play in the early rounds of the NCAA Tournament, despite an injury to his shooting hand that he sustained during the SEC Tournament quarterfinals against Alabama.
In an interview with the Lexington Herald-Leader, Perry addressed the rumors that suggested his injury might keep him out of this week’s games in Milwaukee, but he assured fans that he’s fine.

He shared this with the reporter: “Yeah, I’ve seen some of those,” Perry said with a laugh, referring to the injury rumors. “No, it’s all good. We’ve got a great training staff that worked with me to get it right. You know, obviously throughout the season, there’s gonna be nicks and bruises in there, especially the SEC. But now it’s all good.”
Perry confirmed that he did tweak his shooting hand/wrist during the loss to Alabama but showed that it was feeling fine by stretching it out, without any protective gear on it in the locker room.
Perry has stepped up in a bigger role recently, especially with key backcourt players like Kerr Kriisa, Lamont Butler, and Jaxson Robinson dealing with injuries. His shooting ability and presence on the floor have been essential in keeping Kentucky’s offense going during a tough stretch.
Losing Perry would have been a big setback for the Wildcats as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament, given their concerns about depth, especially with Butler injured and Robinson unavailable.
Luckily, it appears Perry will be ready for Friday’s matchup against the Troy Trojans. The team’s depth and resilience will be crucial if they aim for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
