The Philadelphia Eagles are currently one of the hottest teams in the NFL, having secured their sixth consecutive win with a 26-18 triumph over their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders, in Week 11.
However, despite their success, the Eagles still have areas in need of improvement, particularly their lack of a reliable third wide receiver.
In a recent article, Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder pointed out that the absence of a dependable third receiver is the Eagles’ biggest offensive weakness heading into their Week 12 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
“Offensively, the Eagles’ most significant issue remains their lack of a reliable third receiver. The trade acquisition of Jahan Dotson hasn’t worked out,” Holder wrote on November 18. “Unless general manager Howie Roseman is willing to sign a free agent like Michael Thomas or Hunter Renfrow, he will need to look for an internal solution.”
While Michael Thomas may not be the ideal addition due to past concerns with team chemistry, Hunter Renfrow could be a more promising option. After all, it’s puzzling that Renfrow, who made the Pro Bowl with the Las Vegas Raiders just three years ago, is currently out of the league.
Renfrow’s absence from the NFL remains a mystery, especially considering his struggles in the last two seasons with the Raiders in 2022 and 2023.
“Renfrow’s production dropped off in recent years, and he battled injuries, but it’s shocking that his career might be over,” wrote Bill Williamson of *Silver and Black Pride* on October 1. “Now, he’s not playing at a time when he should be in the prime of his career.”
