Several key players returned to practice for the Eagles on Thursday as they prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at home on Sunday afternoon.
After missing Wednesday’s session, both Jalen Carter (shoulder) and Landon Dickerson (knee) were back on the field, which is a positive sign as the week progresses. However, Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and Darius Slay (groin) remained sidelined, making their participation on Sunday increasingly doubtful.
Mekhi Becton (concussion) was limited on Wednesday but returned to practice on Thursday, indicating progress through the league’s concussion protocol.
Here’s the Thursday practice report:
**Did not practice:** Dallas Goedert (hamstring), Darius Slay (groin)
**Limited:** Landon Dickerson (knee), Mekhi Becton (concussion), Jalen Carter (shoulder), Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen)
Dickerson was seen back at left guard during early warm-ups, with Tyler Steen filling in as the second-team left guard. The Eagles’ starting offensive line featured Fred Johnson, Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Becton, and Lane Johnson.
Starting left tackle Jordan Mailata (hamstring) remains on Injured Reserve for at least two more weeks but was present as a spectator at practice. In Mailata’s absence, Fred Johnson has performed well and will face a challenge against Josh Hines-Allen on Sunday.
If Goedert is unable to play, the Eagles will rely on Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll, who have been the only active tight ends for the last two games, with Calcaterra contributing effectively in the passing game, including three catches for 58 yards against the Bengals.
Should Slay miss the game, Isaiah Rodgers is expected to start, having made a significant impact against the Bengals by tipping a pass that led to an interception by C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
