Texas A&M Faces Major Setback as Key Guard is Ruled Out Ahead of High-Stakes Clash with LSU

Texas A&M left guard Chase Bisontis has been ruled “out” for the Aggies’ upcoming ranked matchup against LSU, as indicated in the Southeastern Conference’s first availability report of the week. Bisontis suffered a lower leg injury during the first half of last weekend’s victory over Mississippi State and did not return to the field.

This season, Bisontis has played all 411 snaps at left guard, transitioning from the right side where he spent most of his freshman year. Pro Football Focus reports that he has given up one sack and nine quarterback hurries, contributing to the overall improvement of the Aggie offensive line. Freshman TJ Shanahan stepped in to fill Bisontis’s role for the majority of the game following his injury in Starkville.

Additionally, defensive back Jordan Pride will also be unavailable for the LSU game. Pride has had limited participation on special teams this season. Meanwhile, third-string quarterback Jaylen Henderson is listed as “doubtful” after missing the Mississippi State matchup due to an injury. Other players who remain sidelined include running back Rueben Owens, defensive back Tyreek Chappell, and center Mark Nabou Jr., all due to various injuries.

As the Aggies prepare for their crucial game against LSU, these injuries could impact their performance, particularly on both the offensive and defensive fronts. The team will need to adapt quickly to maintain their competitive edge against a formidable opponent.
