Jalen Johnson has secured his long-term future with the Atlanta Hawks by signing a five-year, $150 million contract extension just before the season opener. The Hawks submitted the offer right at the deadline of 6 p.m., with ESPN’s Bobby Marks noting that it was filed at 5:59 p.m.

Head coach Quin Snyder expressed his appreciation for Johnson’s growth and the trust he has in him. Snyder said it was meaningful to hear Johnson acknowledge his support, highlighting their strong coach-player relationship. He believes Johnson is not only deserving of the contract but also capable of great performance moving forward.
