NBA Mock Draft Projects Spanish Wing to Join OKC Thunder in Late Lottery Picks

After a few preseason games, it seems that Sam Presti and the Oklahoma City Thunder have once again secured a strong draft class. Dillon Jones and Ajay Mitchell have both demonstrated potential as future rotation players, and the team’s top pick from the 2024 NBA Draft has yet to make his debut. In 2025, Presti and his team will have the chance to further enhance the roster, thanks to several first-round draft picks acquired through trades.

In a recent mock draft by Hoop Intellect, the Thunder selected Hugo Gonzalez with the 11th overall pick. The 18-year-old wing from Madrid, Spain, stands at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds. Gonzalez possesses many traits that the Thunder value, including strong ball-handling skills, playmaking ability, and the capability to guard multiple positions due to his size and athleticism.

Gonzalez has an impressive track record playing for Real Madrid. He was named the 2024 EuroLeague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals MVP after scoring 23 points, along with six assists, three rebounds, five steals, and a block in a narrow 85-84 win over INSEP. He shot 5-of-11 from the field and 2-of-6 from beyond the arc in that game. He was also part of the Real Madrid team that won the EuroLeague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament.

Ranked as the No. 7 prospect on Draft Digest’s 2025 Big Board, Gonzalez is a promising addition. Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 245 pounds, Murray-Boyles averaged 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds as a true freshman, earning SEC All-Freshman honors.

Finally, at No. 25, the mock draft projected Syracuse freshman Donnie Freeman to Oklahoma City.
