Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains on injured reserve following the concerning concussion he sustained in Week 2. The fifth-year NFL quarterback will be unavailable for at least two more weeks before he can return to practice.
During a Monday press conference, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel announced that Tagovailoa is expected to undergo “some expert consultation” in the coming days.
McDaniel indicated that the team has received “nothing negative” regarding Tagovailoa’s condition so far, but they are adopting a cautious approach regarding his potential return to play later this season.
“There’s been nothing negative thus far, but we’re still in the process. We don’t rush that process, and we don’t want to do anything that could adversely affect it,” McDaniel stated.
Currently, the Dolphins are relying on Tyler “Snoop” Huntley as their starting quarterback. On Sunday, Huntley led Miami to its first victory since Tagovailoa’s injury, defeating the New England Patriots 15-10.
The Dolphins will have a bye in Week 6 before facing the Indianapolis Colts on October 20 in Week 7.
