With rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall recovering from a gunshot wound and Deebo Samuel sidelined with a hamstring injury, the aggressive 49ers might consider acquiring Davante Adams.
In a recent appearance on KNBR 680-AM, general manager John Lynch was asked about the potential trade for Adams but kept his cards close to his chest. “We like our group,” he stated. “Davante is a fantastic player. We’re always open to exploring our options and aren’t afraid to make a move if it makes sense.”
Lynch acknowledged the team has faced injuries but emphasized their confidence in the current roster. He noted that any trade would need to be mutually beneficial but stopped short of discussing specific players.
Adding Adams would certainly boost the 49ers’ receiving group, making it even more dynamic. So far this season, the 31-year-old has recorded 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown.
While pursuing Adams aligns with Lynch’s usual strategy, it remains to be seen whether the 49ers will actively engage in trade talks as the deadline approaches.
