Before this season, the San Francisco 49ers bolstered their already talented offense by selecting wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The team had high expectations for Pearsall to enhance their receiving lineup alongside Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Jauan Jennings.
However, Pearsall hasn’t yet had the chance to demonstrate his value to the team, as he was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt in the preseason. Fortunately, he avoided any serious injuries that would hinder his return to play.
Pearsall is eligible to return to the field this week, but the 49ers have decided not to activate his practice window, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Fortunately for the 49ers, they possess considerable depth at wide receiver and are not in urgent need of Pearsall’s contributions at this time. Nonetheless, the team is eager to have the rookie back as soon as possible.

The 49ers are set to face the division-rival Arizona Cardinals in Week 5. Despite earlier losses to the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco managed to bounce back with a victory against the New England Patriots in Week 4.
