Bears to Part Ways with Six-Time Pro Bowler in Blockbuster Trade for Raiders’ Star

The Chicago Bears already made a big move in the offseason by trading for six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, and now there’s potential they might trade him to acquire another top-tier receiver. Davante Adams, who also boasts six Pro Bowl selections, has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are seeking a second-round pick and additional assets for their star receiver.

While the Bears aren’t seen as front-runners for Adams, with teams like the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs more likely suitors, the idea of Adams joining Chicago’s roster is intriguing.

Davante Adams would undoubtedly offer an upgrade over Keenan Allen this season and beyond.

Chicago, wanting to support rookie quarterback Caleb Williams with strong receiving talent, traded a fourth-round pick to the Chargers for Allen’s final contract year, which carries a hefty cap hit. However, with the Bears drafting rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze ninth overall, Allen’s future with the team is uncertain, especially as his contract hasn’t been extended and injuries continue to plague him.

With Odunze likely filling a WR2 role next season alongside D.J. Moore, the Bears may let Allen walk and use the freed-up funds to address their struggling offensive line. However, adding Adams to a receiving trio with Moore and Odunze would make Chicago’s offense significantly more dangerous.

Adams recorded 103 catches for 1,144 yards and 8 touchdowns last season, despite missing out on a Pro Bowl for the first time in seven years.

Chicago’s general manager, Ryan Poles, has shown a willingness to trade second-round picks in blockbuster deals, as seen in his acquisitions of Chase Claypool and Montez Sweat. With two second-round picks in 2025, the Bears are well-positioned to meet the Raiders’ asking price for Adams while still retaining a valuable pick. Financially, the Bears could also manage Adams’ current deal, and with nearly $73 million in projected cap space for 2025, they would have room to address their offensive line needs as well.
