Danny Odem, a talented 2026 cornerback and current UNC commit, has garnered attention from the Florida Gators after receiving a recent offer. Florida secondary coach Will Harris visited Orlando on Monday to scout local talent, making a stop at Orlando’s First Academy, where Odem plays. After Harris’ visit, the Gators extended an offer, adding Odem to their growing list of targets for the 2026 class.
“This was really a surprise and came out of nowhere,” Odem shared with *Swamp247* about the offer. “That was my first time seeing him, and later in the day, it was my first time talking to him on the phone. It was a great talk with him. I’m looking forward to going up there for a visit.”
Odem has already set a date to visit the University of Florida and is excited about building a relationship with the Gators’ coaching staff. His initial conversation with Harris on Monday helped lay the foundation for what could be a significant recruiting battle down the road.
While currently committed to North Carolina, Odem’s new interest in Florida signals that his recruitment is far from over. The offer from UF presents a new opportunity for the young cornerback to explore his options as he continues his high school career.
Stay tuned as Odem’s recruitment develops, with the Gators now firmly in the mix for his signature in the 2026 recruiting class.
