After a tough Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are facing potential concerns as their top wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, appeared on the injury report ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both Evans and Godwin were listed as limited participants in practice. Evans is dealing with a knee injury, while Godwin has a neck issue. While Evans has appeared on the injury report earlier this season for rest, this is the first time Godwin has been listed.
Evans, who had a quiet game against the Broncos with just two catches for 17 yards, has two more practices to recover before facing the Eagles. Godwin, who contributed six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown, also has time to heal ahead of the crucial matchup.
The Buccaneers’ injury list continues to grow. Defensive tackle Vita Vea (knee) and right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion) were limited in practice after missing the Broncos game, while left tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee), defensive linemen William Gholston (knee) and Logan Hall (foot), center Graham Barton (ankle), and running back Bucky Irving (hamstring) were also limited.
Additionally, safety Antoine Winfield (foot), tight end Ko Kieft (ankle), defensive tackle Calijah Kancey (calf), and wide receiver Kameron Johnson (ankle) were unable to practice, potentially creating depth concerns.
With just a few days left before facing the Eagles, the Buccaneers will closely monitor Evans and Godwin, hoping both can recover in time. Their presence is critical for Tampa Bay’s offense, and their availability could significantly impact the team’s ability to rebound from last week’s defeat.
