Just In: USC Trojans Key Player Unlikely to Play Against Wisconsin Badgers

The #13 USC Trojans are set to host the Wisconsin Badgers this Saturday, with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS. USC is off to a 2-1 start but fell short in their first BIG10 Conference game against #12 Michigan, losing 27-24. Wisconsin, also 2-1, will play their first BIG10 matchup of the season, making this game crucial for both teams.

The Trojans will be missing key players, including tight end Lake McRee, who suffered a knee injury against Michigan. Initially feared to be season-ending, McRee’s injury isn’t as severe, but he will likely miss this week’s game. McRee has struggled this season, recording 12 catches for 134 yards with no touchdowns. Freshman Kade Eldridge will step in as the starting tight end.

The Wisconsin Badgers are also dealing with a significant loss, as starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is out for the season with a torn ACL. Braedyn Locke will start in Van Dyke’s place, and the Badgers will need him to perform well against USC’s quarterback Miller Moss to have any chance of winning.

While both teams are managing injuries, USC appears to have more depth, putting additional pressure on Wisconsin to find a way to overcome their challenges. This game is crucial for both teams as they aim to secure an essential conference win.
