Cardinals Make Key Additions to Roster Ahead of Lions Matchup

ARIZONA — The Arizona Cardinals have made two roster moves in preparation for their Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions, elevating Jackson Barton and Charlie Heck from the practice squad to the active roster.

These adjustments come as starting right tackle Kelvin Beachum is listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury. Beachum has been filling in for Jonah Williams, who started in Week 1 before being placed on injured reserve with a knee issue.

The NFL is giving Cardinals a huge leg up in attempts to climb NFC West standings

Additionally, the Cardinals have listed both Greg Dortch and Dante Stills as questionable for the matchup.

Barton has seen limited action, playing just six snaps over the last two seasons, but he is more familiar with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing’s system than Heck, who has more starting experience.

On a positive note, Will Hernandez (ankle), Xavier Thomas (personal), and Xavier Weaver (oblique) all participated fully in Friday’s practice and have been removed from the injury report.

The official inactive list will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff in Glendale.
