Five-star recruit Caleb Wilson, a top 10 prospect, visited Kentucky during the weekend of September 14. Earlier this week, we highlighted the excitement surrounding his visit and how it seemed to strengthen his leaning toward the Wildcats and coach Mark Pope. However, the situation has grown even more intriguing recently. Current five-star commit Jasper Johnson has been actively recruiting Wilson on X (formerly Twitter).
Come on @CalebWilson2025 . We missed in AAU. Let’s go crazy in front of the best fans in the country. BBN. “ KY til I Die”💙💙 https://t.co/Hip4IUqw3N

While it’s common for recruits to team up with friends and other top players from AAU and basketball camps, Wilson’s responses to Johnson’s tweets are noteworthy for Kentucky basketball fans. His first reply was a simple acknowledgment of their friendship with “My Guy 💯.” His second reply, a blue and white heart, appeared to show interest in the idea of teaming up.

Although these tweets alone wouldn’t be significant enough for a post, the situation evolved rapidly. Less than an hour later, Wilson tweeted about Acaden Lewis, another key target for Kentucky who is also highly ranked as either a five-star or top 50 recruit. The tweet, featuring a pair of eyes, suggested a reaction to the idea of teaming up with these top recruits.

Coach Pope visited Wilson again yesterday, intensifying efforts to secure his commitment and prioritizing him as a top recruit for the 2025 class. Pope appears to sense that Wilson is nearing a commitment to Kentucky, evidenced by Wilson moving up his decision date.
In addition to Wilson, Pope continues to focus on top center Chris Cenac. This week, Pope also visited Cenac, underscoring his commitment to assembling a standout 2025 recruiting class. With two top 20 recruits already committed—Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno—Pope aims to create one of the nation’s premier recruiting classes.
