The USC Trojans are on a hot streak, starting the season 2-0 and heading to the Big House this weekend to face the Michigan Wolverines. The team is generating more hype and confidence than it has in years, catching the attention of recruits.
Floyd Boucard, who had a standout visit to USC in June, was initially expected to commit to the Trojans. He spoke highly of the program and Coach Henderson, and even had the prospect of receiving training from former Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who reportedly offered to mentor him if Boucard chose USC.
However, after a visit to Oklahoma and some deliberation, Boucard committed to the Sooners in July. Yet, with three weeks into the College Football season, Boucard has reconsidered his decision. On Monday, he decommitted from Oklahoma and reopened his recruitment.
Several teams, including Miami and Florida, are expected to make a push for the 6’2.5″, 315-pound defensive lineman, but USC appears to be the front-runner. Scott Schrader of WeAreSC.com even predicts that the Trojans are likely to secure Boucard’s commitment.
USC currently has 19 commits for the 2025 class but lacks an interior defensive lineman. Securing Boucard would be a significant boost, especially with other top defensive line recruits like Elijah Griffin and Jahkeem Stewart (who is rumored to reclassify to 2025) also being pursued. Boucard, currently rated as a 3-star recruit by On3, is expected to rise to a 4-star by the end of the fall season, making his potential commitment even more impactful for the Trojans.
