The New York Jets have an opportunity to improve significantly while moving on from a challenging situation.
ESPN suggested a “rare” three-team blockbuster trade that could shake up the NFL.
**New York Jets receive**: Wide receiver Davante Adams
**Kansas City Chiefs receive**: Pass rusher Haason Reddick and a 2025 sixth-round pick (via the Raiders)
**Las Vegas Raiders receive**: Defensive end George Karlaftis, wide receiver Allen Lazard, a 2025 fifth-round pick (via the Chiefs), and a 2025 second-rounder (via the Jets)
ESPN’s Seth Walder explained the potential deal, stating, “Instead of cutting ties with Reddick, the Jets should push further with this rare three-team trade. While the Jets still need a pass rusher, they also need help at wide receiver. Adams would transform New York’s offense from threatening to dangerous. Additionally, the impact of the draft pick compensation is softened by offloading Lazard’s $10 million guaranteed salary.”
### Jets and Reddick’s Situation
ESPN’s Rich Cimini shared that the tension between Reddick and the Jets “goes beyond money” and involves a possible promise of an extension during the trade. Reddick’s camp feels wronged, and he requested a trade after the Jets failed to meet his demands.
Although Jets GM Joe Douglas stated there were no plans to trade Reddick, Cimini noted that while a trade is unlikely, “it’s hard to envision Reddick in a Jets uniform” due to the ongoing standoff.
The Jets are focused on winning now, and flipping Reddick for future draft capital wouldn’t help their current goals. However, trading him for players who can contribute immediately could be beneficial.
ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler spoke with several league executives who believe a trade for Reddick is becoming more likely, with one NFC executive saying, “They wouldn’t get similar value back [a third-rounder], but it’s hard [for the Jets] to pay him now, and he clearly doesn’t want to be there. Both sides mismanaged the situation.”
### Davante Adams and the Jets
ESPN’s Mike Greenberg told “Boy Green Daily” that he “already considers Davante Adams a Jet” and believes the trade will happen before the deadline, adding that if the Jets land Adams, “we’ll have the best offense in the AFC.”
Despite Adams being with the Raiders, he continues to watch his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, praising his performance after a long break from competitive football.
