On Tuesday night, former USC Trojans star running back Reggie Bush was the target of an attempted break-in at his home in Encino, CA.
According to the LA Times, Bush was inside when three men tried to enter his residence. Thankfully, no one was harmed. “Everyone is safe,” Bush confirmed in a message to the LA Times.
The attempted burglary adds to a string of similar incidents in Encino dating back to early August, with homes on multiple streets targeted, but no arrests made. Police responded to Bush’s neighborhood around 11 p.m., though nothing was stolen.
LAPD Officer Charles Miller reported that a resident heard a window break, with broken glass found outside. The suspects, dressed in black, fled before the police arrived, and they remain at large.
Bush, a standout from 2003-2005 with the Trojans, won numerous accolades, including the 2006 Heisman Trophy, which he was later forced to forfeit due to an NCAA scandal. However, he was recently reinstated as the award’s recipient, and USC retired his No. 5 jersey just last week.
