Alex Cora announced a bullpen change for the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday before their series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
Cora revealed that left-handed reliever Brennan Bernardino will be placed on the injured list due to left elbow soreness. He clarified that the issue is related to bone rather than ligaments. To fill his spot, the Red Sox will activate left-hander Cam Booser, who has been sidelined with left elbow inflammation.
This season, Bernardino has a 4-3 record with a 4.06 ERA over 57 appearances. Booser, who made his MLB debut in April, holds a 2-2 record with a 3.00 ERA across 41 appearances for Boston.
The Red Sox won 12-3 on Monday but lost 5-3 on Tuesday. They will aim for a series win on Wednesday, with the game scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and broadcasted on NESN.
