Veteran defensive lineman Angelo Blackson rejoined the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on Tuesday after the team released undrafted rookie Tyler Manoa. Manoa, a product of Arizona Wildcats football, had joined the practice squad the previous week after the Cardinals lost Ben Stille to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Blackson brings extensive NFL experience with 128 games and 42 starts under his belt. The 6-foot-4, 318-pound lineman was recently cut by the Denver Broncos at the end of August. Blackson previously played for the Cardinals in 2020, making nine starts in 16 games, recording 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, and four tackles for loss during that time.
Since then, Blackson played for the Chicago Bears from 2021-2022 and spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He began his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him 100th overall in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He spent two years with the Titans and three with the Houston Texans (2017-2019) before his stint with Arizona.
Tyler Manoa, standing 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, initially signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent this offseason. Before that, Manoa spent four years at UCLA and his final college season with the Arizona Wildcats, where he tallied 28 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery.
