Chicago Bulls Reach Agreement with Key New Orleans Pelicans Forward

Most of the offseason business is wrapped up, and NBA franchises are now making final adjustments to their rosters ahead of the 2024-25 season. No major moves are expected at this stage. The Chicago Bulls, however, have added a former New Orleans Pelicans power forward to their squad.

Patrick Williams is projected to start at power forward for the Bulls next season, with players like Torrey Craig and Matas Buzelis also being options. Now, the Bulls have another candidate for that position. According to Michael Scotto on X (formerly Twitter), the Bulls have signed EJ Liddell.

Liddell was drafted 41st overall by the Pelicans in the 2022 NBA Draft after a standout college career at Ohio State. Despite spending time with the Pelicans, he saw limited action, appearing in just eight regular season games and averaging 0.5 points in 2.9 minutes per game. He also had a brief appearance in a playoff game. In July, Liddell was traded to the Atlanta Hawks as part of a deal for Dejounte Murray and later to the Phoenix Suns before being released.

While Liddell is unlikely to be a game-changer for the Bulls, he has something to prove as he returns to his home state of Illinois. This could be an opportunity for him to showcase his best basketball.
