The Seattle Seahawks have made their usual practice squad promotions ahead of their Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos. Veteran cornerback Artie Burns and safety Marquise Blair will join the active roster. Both players have two more practice squad elevations remaining before they must be added to the 53-man roster for further games.
Burns, who was injured in the preseason finale and then aggravated the injury in practice, appears to be fit to play. Blair, who returned to the Seahawks after being out of the NFL in 2023 due to an Achilles injury, may be elevated due to concerns about starter Rayshawn Jenkins, who has been limited in practice with a calf issue.
Seattle will need to declare seven players inactive for the game. With Uchenna Nwosu and Pharaoh Brown already ruled out, five more players will need to be listed as inactive. The final inactive list will be announced about 90 minutes before kickoff.
