FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas redshirt junior wide receiver Jaedon Wilson announced on Friday that he is stepping away from the football program.
Wilson, a former 3-star recruit from DeSoto High School in Texas, shared his decision on social media, expressing gratitude to the University of Arkansas for the academic and athletic opportunities it provided. He wrote, “I am proud to be a graduate of the University of Arkansas and excited for the next chapter in my football career. My passion for the game is stronger than ever, and I look forward to continuing to play at the highest level. I wish all the best to the coaches and players at Arkansas, and I’ll be cheering for you all.”
Wilson played 8 snaps in Arkansas’ season-opening 70-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on August 29. This week, he was listed third on the depth chart behind Andrew Armstrong and former professional baseball player Monte Harrison.
During his time with the Razorbacks, Wilson’s standout moment came with a 65-yard touchdown on the second play of the 2023 season, leading to a 56-13 win over Western Carolina. In his 22-game career at Arkansas, Wilson recorded 18 receptions for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was ranked as the No. 96 receiver in the 2021 class by 247Sports.
